Tooting My Own Horn, an Announcement and an Award

TOOT TOOT!

I have lost five pounds-YAY! However, I feel like I have lost more because I have been circuit training and have really firmed and toned a lot. I have a new diet secret that I am not going to unveil until I know for sure that it is actually contributing to my weight loss. And because it's really weird. But stay tuned, because I may just let you in on it. If you are good little readers...and leave me lots of comments and sentiments of adoration.

Next, I would like to announce that I will be doing another See Kai Run giveaway for their new spring line! Yee-ha! It was a big hit last time so I contacted the lovely Julie over at their marketing department, who told me I could go on with my bad self and do another one. She is awesome and gets the "Cool Booty" award. So now I have to pick out a pair for my daughter to review and I will let you all know what she thinks of them and give you the opportunity to win some for your own munchkin. Keep your eye out for the official announcement, coming soon.

And finally, I got a really cool award from the even cooler and obviously misguided Moonspun over at Moonspun Spins, because this is what the award means:

This award shows the values that every blogger shows in his or her effort to transmit cultural, literal, ethical and personal values every day.

I am not exactly sure that I transmit all that much cultural, ethical or personal values through this blog in all my discussions of dildos, boobs and girl crushes, but I will humbly accept this award anyway, because # 1. Who turns down an award? and #2. Moonspun is awesome so anything from her is cool in my book.

Oh yeah, and it's pretty. The rules:

1) Accept the award and post it on your blog along with the name of the person who gave you the award.

2) Pass it on to (15) bloggers that you know who deserve it.

Since I have two children and three jobs, I am only passing this to five. I hope you forgive me.

1. Carolyn from Carolyn...Online

2. Kaui from How to Party With an Infant

3. Ron from Clark Kent's Lunchbox

4. Ed from FitDad

5. Matt from DC Urban Dad

These bloggers, in my opinion, share a lot of cultural, ethical and/or personal values with their blog, so I think it is only fitting to make sure they receive this award. They all are also uber-cool and have tons to offer the bloggging world, so check them out. They also all happen to be hot. That is just a coincidence.

Everybody have an awesome weekend!

Award From My BFF

Jim from IPR, my BFF and Mr. Popularity himself (because he gets, like, an award a DAY because apparently he is just the coolest blogger to ever hit "publish") has bestowed upon me my first award in a long while. At first I was worried that I hadn't received any bling recently because I suck eggs or something equally horrible, but then I realized that it is probably because people just think I am so famous and uppity now that I have this uber popular blog that they think I won't even acknowledge a mere blogger award. Then I realized that was me living in my rich fantasy life again, and since I am neither famous nor have an "uber popular" blog, that the reason is probably just cause I suck eggs. But at least my best friend forever took pity on me and gave me this award:

This is a very fitting award for me since this blog is probably the most honest thing I have ever done, sometimes a little too honest. And embarrassing. And sometimes incriminating. But I digress...

Here are the rules attached to this award (cause, come on, you know there's no free lunch) I stole this content from Jim's site, and since he hasn't copyrighted anything, there's nothing he can do about it. Plus he knows I would give him major shit if he ever did anything about it anyway:

When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Show the 7 victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!

So here's 10 honest things about myself (I didn't steal this from Jim, mostly because I am not a 40-year-old former gamer and cat burglar. But also because this is all about being HONEST right? See, I was paying attention...):

1. I clogged the toilet this morning.

2. My 2-year-old daughter was actually the one that finally unclogged it.

3. I am extremely insecure.

4. I have about four girl crushes at the moment.

5. I have never been to the movies by myself.

6. I felt like I always had to be in a relationship in college, and avoided being single like the plague.

7. I gained 50 pounds while pregnant with my daughter.

8. When I was little I used to tell people I wanted to be a lawyer and an archaeologist.

9. I once ran around the high school track at night without a shirt on to impress some boys in middle school. Definitely a low point in my life. I mean, I was wearing a sports bra and it was dark so they couldn't actually see anything, but still. What a slut.

10. I used to smoke cigarrettes in the parking lot of the high school with my boyfriend my junior year, and that is STILL probably the most badass thing I have ever done. Yes, sad, but true. I am really not a badass, as much as I like to think I am in my fantasy life.

So that's it. There are my 10 honest things. The next part says that I have to pass this award along to seven other bloggers, so here are the lucky winners:

1. Cat at Zipbag of Bones (one of my current girl crushes)

2. Deb at I Need a Martini Mom

3. Jen at Happily-Ever-After-Land

4. Rachel at Following in My Shoes

5. Ron at Clark Kent's Lunchbox

6. Captain Dumbass at Us and Them

7. Matt at DC Urban Dad

Sorry if any of you guys have already gotten this award. And feel free to do whatever you would like with it, such as take it and run, put it in your sidebar, print it out and frame it for your wall, or nothing at all. I will not be offended whatever you decide, just know that I dig you enough to take the time to give it to you.

Thanks again Jim for my pity award! (That's what best friends are for, right?)

How Do You Type That Grunting Noise That Tim the Toolman Does?

Because if I knew how, that is what I would be doing. You know why? Because I got two awards so jacked up with testosterone that I am compelled to go buy a toolbelt and some power tools and start scratching my crotch on a regular basis. Apparently, a couple of the dad bloggers felt like the awards going around were too "feminine" for their taste and decided to create a couple of their own. Fine with me, my blog could use a good infusion of testosterone.

The first one is from Goodfather, and it surely proves that men are definitely obsessed with the "size" of their, well, um...blog. Yeah, that's it...

It's called the "This Blog Measures Up Award"

I am extremely proud to say that Goodfather believes that my blog "measures up" and the feeling is certainly mutual. So thanks Goodfather!

Then there's the award from Captain Dumbass over at Us and Them. This one states the obvious:

Since I have booty to share, I think it goes without saying that my blog has it as well. I am pretty stoked to be celebrating my abundance of booty instead of the usual disdain, so for that, I thank you Captain Dumbass!

So now there are some rules for the first one. They are:

1. Say one nice thing to a man in your life.

2. List at least six ways that you measure success in your life (or for your blog).

3. Assign this award to six other blogs and leave them a comment telling the blogger that you’ve assigned them this award.

4. Link back to the blog that you received this award from.

So for the first one I have already given Goodfather a seriously nice compliment on his blog, so I have that covered. Here are the six ways I measure success in my life:

1. How happy my children are

2. Whether I feel I bring joy to others

3. Whether I feel I am doing my best at everything I do

4. How much love I have in my life

5. How much wine I have to drink before I have forgotten all the bad shit

6. The quality of my blow jobs

So I am pretty sure I am doing well according to at least five out of six of the criteria. But I am pretty sure the last one is only questionable because I REALLY like to drink wine, not because I am drinking away my sorrows.

Since the second award has no rules, I am going to pass both these awards along to the following people and call it a day:

Elizabeth at Parenting Pink

Jaime at My Suburban Can Run Over Your Minivan...And Will

Athena at Hot Child in the Suburbs

Becky at Mommy Wants Vodka

Mommy Melee

Merlot Mom

So if you would excuse me, I really need to go scratch my honorary balls now.

Thanks!

Where are My Underoos When I Need Them?

OK, I got the coolest award ever from Keely at the Un-Mom. You know why it's so cool? I will tell you why...

Because it is the WONDAH WOMAN AWARD!!

Yes, my friends, I said Wonder Woman, THE awesome chick superhero that I worshipped and emulated as a child. I distinctly remember a picture taken of me in my Wonder Woman Underoos (that I am sure you would love to see, but it's NOT gonna happen) from when I was about 4 years old, and all I can remember is thinking that I would NEVER take them off. Obviously, I did take them off eventually, but years later I remember finding those same Underoos and holding them sentimentally, wishing they still fit me so I could feel the spirit of Wonder Woman take over me like the old days.

Well, I digress...Let me show you this dope award

How cool is that? I still get the chills when I look at her...she's so cool.

So now I get to pass on the superhero love to other Wonder Mommies out there. I am going to pass this along to Jennifer at Sex Diaries of a Mom and Elizabeth at Parenting Pink because they are two other kick ass moms that run businesses from home and raise their kids with style.

So you must excuse me now because I have to go cruise e-bay for some Wonder Woman Underoos in size "chubby mommy."

Have a great weekend everyone!

OUT!

Two Awards (From Three Dope People) and a Pair of Spanky Pants

Spanky Pants?

Yes, spanky pants. Because my leg warmer wearin' buddy Jenni over at Jiggety Jigg told me I had to mention "spanky pants" in my post when I accepted her award. So there. I did it. Are you happy Jenni? Jenni is really awesome, so you should go send her some love when you get the chance. She is so awesome that she gave me this Motherload award and told me I could make up my own rules--yee-ha! So here is the award:

Look at that puppy! Pretty cool. So my rule for this award is that I am going to pass it along to just ONE other person, a person whom I hold very dear to my heart and who was one of two people to give me this next award this week. It just happens to be my rockin' MOMMY - Rose from All About Cakes. Yes, people, the one and only goddess that is 50% responsible for my existence (you can thank her when you see her, she gets it all the time). She is the ONLY recipient of the MOTHERLOAD award because well, she's the only person I know motherload-alicious enough in my book to receive it. So there you go mommy!

So my Mom and Heinous over at Irregularly Periodic Ruminations (who will from now on be known as "Daddy-o,") both gave me this award:
Since this award is in Portuguese and that is one of the six languages I am fluent in, I will translate for you. It means: "This blog invests and believes, in 'proximity' [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' - being close through proxy]. These blogs are all charming and they aim to show the marvels of friendship. Lets give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to eight bloggers who in turn must make the same thing and put this text."

Yeah, I don't really know Portuguese but Daddy-o and my Mom say that that is what it means
so I believe them. For all I know it could say that I have unbearably stinky feet, but whatever. It's cool no matter what cause it's a MAJOR AWARD.

So I have to pass it along to eight others so they can continue to share the Portuguese fortune. So here they are, in no particular order:

1. Rachel at Following in My Shoes
2. Jennifer at Happily Ever After Land
3. Elizabeth at Parenting Pink Blog
4. My Aunt Lori at Recovering Stroke Survivor
5. Casey at Half as Good as You
6. Mel at Mommydoodles
7. Athena at Hot Child in the Suburbs
8. Jen at Cheaper Than Therapy.

Phew. I'm tired now. I don't have much stamina because I have been drinking mimosas at a baby shower all afternoon. Did you know that they have a jacuzzi spa for babies now?? I KNOW! Craziness. Anywho, I am off to spend the rest of my Sunday trying to relax while continually being asked to do something, and tomorrow I will have a nice little post for you to devour (you little bloggy vultures you!)

*kiss kiss

Some People Think I am Cool (AKA Oh, the Disillusionment!)

When I first started writing in this little corner of the internet, I really, honest to blog, didn't think that anyone was going to read it except for my mother and MAYBE my husband. Well, I was wrong on two counts. # 1. A lot more people read it and # 2. My husband doesn't. No, just kidding, he does, I just like to give him a hard time because with his insanely busy schedule sometimes he goes weeks at a time without checking it. Which is fine with me, actually, because there are probably plenty of posts I wouldn't mind him missing out on because in my mind, only about 42% of what I write is readable. Maybe 43%. No, definitely 42. But thankfully, some people disagree. SHOCKING, I exclaim. Some people even think I am "sparky" and (now hold your breath for this one people) SUPERIOR. I would NEVER call myself superior (unless we're talking about activities in the boudoir...you know, like making the bed--you dirty, dirty individual, I know what you were thinking), but Jim over at Irregularly Periodic Ruminations apparently thinks my scribbling is superior, so he gave me this:

I am assuming this means that he likes what I write, so for that, I am flattered, and also wondering if he should have his head checked (but that's for other reasons that we won't go into now...) But, no matter the reason, I say THANK YOU JIM. I am especially honored because it seems that Jim now has a little posse of groupies that treat him like a rock star, although I am not completely convinced that it doesn't have to do with subliminal messages placed on his blog. Very suspicious.

The next award is from Bridget over at Mama Belly Blog and Jennifer from Sex Diaries of a Mom, and it is the Maternal Spark Sparky Blogger Award, and it sure is purdy!!

I really like the idea of sparking creativity, conversations, controversy and friendship. Those are all pretty awesome things to spark, if you ask me. Almost as awesome as a doobie. Almost.

So the last thing I want to "scribble" about today is how much I appreciate YOU (yeah you, you doofus, stop looking around). Because I wouldn't get so much out of this whole blogging thang if it weren't for you, the gals and guy (thanks Jim) who frequent my blog and leave comments harrassing me, supporting me and all around making me laugh until I tinkle. I never imagined that blogging would actually make me part of a community and that I would make actual friends from it, but lo and behold--I have. That's boffo, as a friend of mine would say (you know who you are). I hit 50 followers yesterday (after some pleading on Twitter and a couple of small pay-offs) and I was pretty stoked that 50 people actual want to get into my sick, twisted mind every day. Although they are probably just waiting for me to post another embarrassing picture of myself (or for more stories about dildos), I am super duper appreciative and humbled. Cause, you know, sometimes I wonder if I really make any sense to anyone else but me...you guys prove to me that I do (or at least that my nonsensical ramblings are mildly humorous).

Now I must pass these awards to five other unsuspecting bloggers. So here they are:

1. Kelly over at The Neurotic Mom
2. Toni at a Daily Dose of Toni
3. Renee at Cutie Bootie Cakes
4. Jenni at Jiggety Jigg
5. Angie at In Pursuit of Fulfillment

All these ladies spark all kinds of things and are definitely superior scribblers, so there you have it. I demand that you go visit them and tell them that Petra sent you. (By the way, that's me).

Later playas.

Voting Day Randomness

Well hello my fellow Americans! I hope all of you got out and got 'er done today (or at least have plans to do so later). If you don't know what I am talking about, then I'll give you a hint: It involves a curtain, a small cubicle and it rhymes with bloating. Yeah, you know what I am talking about.

So I haven't voted yet, but I plan to do so later when I have someone to watch my darling children so they don't terrorize the lines of citizens waiting patiently for their turn to take advantage of democracy. So for now, since I am completely bogged down with work, I am going to recognize a couple of awards I have received as of late and call it a day. I promise to entertain you all with a smashing post tomorrow about my adventures as an insane multitasking momma and my recent mental breakdowns involving my daughter, my dog and vomit in the bath tub. Yeah, I betcha can't wait for that one!

So the first award I received was from Jennifer over at Sex Diaries of a Mom, which is one of my all time favorite blogs (not just because it's about sex, please people), because Jennifer is a really fly lady. Yes, I said fly. I'm bringing the word back, get ready for it.

Apparently, I have an uber-amazing blog!

Which is way better than just amazing, you know. UBER-amazing is a special title reserved for those bloggers (like Jennifer) who go above and beyond to pleasure their audience. Wait, I meant please their audience, yeah, that's right...

So thanks Jennifer!

Julie over at Cool Mom Guide gave me another version of the Kreativ Blogger award, which I am extremely grateful for because my other one was lonely and needy and being really clingy with the other awards. So she really saved me from thousands of dollars of blog award group therapy.

So there it is. Both awards are so pretty and girly, and therefore my first awardee that I am passing these to will be my very good (and manly, but not afraid of his feminine side) friend Heinous over at Irregularly Periodic Ruminations. I like him even though his blog title is way too long. And he wrote me a blog post on demand today, so he's on my good side...for now. Then I would like to pass this to Mommy Wants Vodka becuase I am really impressed that she is making it through this really trying time, what with the raging day care cold and the vaginal pain...need I go on? She deserves it. And lastly, I want to honor the Hussy Housewife over at My Suburban Can Run Over Your Minivan...and Will. She posted a really profound post about the Halloween candy addiction that so many of us suffer from, and she made me realize I am not alone. I am still waiting for Part 2, which is supposedly going to change my life and my intense obsession with fun sized chocolate coated confectionaries. Go read her--she's FUNNY.

So, again, I hope everyone gets out and votes today and doesn't let their voice go unheard. I'm pretty excited to find out the results tonight. Because no matter what, it will be CHANGE, which is what we need right now. So go do it!

And if that isn't enough reason to vote, I hear all kinds of places are giving away free stuff if you vote. So do it for the free Starbucks, loser.

Check Me Out on MomDot!

Hey, remember that time, at band camp...wait, no, sorry, I mean--

--the time when I won Drama Queen in the Dottie Awards? Yeah, that was great...

Oh wait, I had a point here...

Oh yeah! The ladies over at MomDot featured me because of it (how radical, don't you think?) and you can find the little spotlight piece I wrote about myself over at MomDot today! Woopee! Hooray! Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight!

And also, you can check out my new weekly column over at Moms Helping Moms. It is called The Home Office and it's all about being a rockin' mom and working at home to help pay those bills (you know those pieces of paper that you shove in a drawer and forget about until those annoying people start calling you...). So go see the first edition of The Home Office and join Moms Helping Moms if you haven't already--cause it's awesome (and if you don't, I will hunt you down and give you a wet willy!).

And tune in tomorrow because I have an awesome post coming about a transvestite Barbie and my parenting style in regards to enlightening my children about alternative lifestyles. It's going to be tranny-riffic!

My Mojo Revitalizer!

My lovely colleague (yes, this blogging thing IS a very serious business, you know) over at Sex Diaries of a Mom gave me the Kreativ Blogger Award--on the very day that I am feeling my most UN-creative! So I am looking at it as a gift from the gods (or the goddess, in this case) to bring me back my mojo!! Thank you Jennifer! I am forever indebted to you! So here's the pretty bling:

And there are some rules, and they are to list six things that make me happy and then pass the award along to six others to make THEM happy. Well, I AM a giver in nature, so I will abide by these rules. The six things that make me happy are:

1. My children's perfect little mugs
2. My husband's embrace (AWWWW)
3. A good glass of wine
4. An incredible book
5. A crisp fall day
6. Writing something inspiring (and/or funny, stupid or anything that evokes a reaction really)

Now to pass this happiness along (and maybe some mojo with it)

1. Elizabeth at Parenting Pink
2. Jenni at Jiggety Jigg
3. Anna at Life Just Keeps Getting Weirder
4. Debbie at Debbie Does Drivel
5. Carolyn from Carolyn...Online
6. Athena at Hot Child in the Suburbs

Enjoy the happiness ladies! (And I promise you readers that it will make you thoroughly happy if you visit these women's blogs cause they rock!)

Watch out for the mojo, I can feel it comin'!

Thank You!

First of all, a big thank you to everyone who left me such awesome birthday sentiments! You guys are all amazing and I am so proud to be part of such a great blogging community!

Second of all, I want to thank my mom for the award she gave me yesterday. She is the author of All About Cakes and I would sincerely recommend checking out her blog for some awesome cake baking and decorating tips and tricks. She is an AMAZING baker and cake artist. Here is the award she gave me:

It is BY FAR the cutest award I have ever gotten, and the picture kinda reminds me of my daughter, so of course, I LOVE IT!

I am sending it right back at her!

I love you up to the sky and back Mom!!

The Results Are In!!

I can't believe it:

I WON! I am officially the Dottie Award winner of the title Drama Queen!

Thank you for everyone who voted for me. This is so exciting because I never won any superlatives in high school and I always wanted one sooooooo bad!

I am living out my adolescent dreams here on the internet and am so grateful that you have made it happen for me! At the moment, I am wearing my daughter's dress-up princess crown and waving regally as I prance around the house. I had an acceptance speech written, but in typical drama queen fashion, I am too choked up and overwhelmed to give it (here is where you pretend to be disappointed). Instead, I will just wipe my tears and say "thank you, thank you, thank you." And I would like to especially thank the little people. They put up with a lot of shit from us big people; you know, it can't be easy being little.

Not only did I win, but a host of other awesome bloggers won Dottie Awards, and here they are (in no particular order):

Most Likely to Succeed: Sandy: http://www.momisodes.com/

Homecoming Queen: Jen: http://poshpointofview.com/

Class President: Christy: http://thewritegal.wordpress.com/

Captain of the Cheer Squad: Kadi: http://www.wombattheinnsane.com

Class Clown: Jiggity Jigg: http://jiggetyjigg.blogspot.com

Biggest Nerd: Bridgette: http://www.thenotsoblog.blogspot.com/

Debate Team: Debateur Debates: http://debateurdebates.blogspot.com/

Miss Congienality: Kim: http://accidentalmommies.com/

Band Geek: She Lives: http://she-lives.typepad.com/

Teachers Pet: Mommyto2Princesses: http://mommyto2princess.blogspot.com/

There was also a very special award given to Jennifer at Happily-Ever-After-Land, who came in second for Homecoming Queen. They made up her very own Dottie--Miss America--because she is donating money to charity for the votes she received. Pretty awesome, huh? Good job Jennifer, you are quite the philanthropist!

So check out these other incredible blogs and look for me on MomDot.com. I will be interviewed and will be a featured blogger--how exciting!! I have never been interviewed before. Geesh, my pits are already starting to sweat, I just know I am going to say something really stupid or be really boring.

OK, I have to go have an anxiety attack now. But thank you again and I will do my best to be the best Drama Queen ever!

I'm BAAAAAACK!

Well hellllllloooooooo! (Insert British accent here a la Mrs. Doubtfire for best results)

I am exhausted, hung over and never want to see a glass of red wine ever again (until tonight, of course). My lovely British pal and I had a ball during her visit and I dropped her off at the airport this morning after three hours of sleep and about four glasses of wine, so I am not really all that coherent. Please excuse this post if it wanders, babbles and meanders all over the place. So much happened while I was on my little break from the blogosphere and I don't really know where to start. I got quite a few awards, and a nomination for a Dottie Award (thanks to my shameless begging for one!) So I think I am going to use this welcome back post to thank all the people that honored me while I was away, as well as my kick-ass guest posters. Let's all take a second and give them a round of applause...

CLAP DAMMNITT!

Thank you.

So here are the awards that I got that I haven't acknowledged yet. I got a totally original and sassy award from Jenni over at Jiggety Jigg:

And I got another I Love Your Blog Award from Mom on the Rise.

SWEET!

And Jennifer over at Happily-Ever-After-Land nominated me for Drama Queen for the Dottie Awards:

So if you would be so kind as to hop on over to MomDot and vote for me (if I get on the ballot), I would greatly appreciate it and will shower you with love and affection!

Now I am going to go beach myself on the sofa and try to get some precious, much-needed sleep. I will try to post something more interesting and less self-indulgent tomorrow, I promise!

A Gold Card--Now THAT's an Award!

One of my very dear to my heart mom bloggers, Elizabeth from Parenting Pink has bestowed upon me the ultra-coveted and super-blingy blogging award, the BFF Gold Card! (And no, you cannot borrow it to go shopping, go get your own playas!)

Here are the rules:

-Only five people allowed
-Four have to be dedicated followers of your blog
-One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog and live in another part of the world -You must link back to whoever gave you the award

OK, so I am not sure if I have any followers from other parts of the world, so I don't think I can follow that rule, but I have done my best to adhere to the rest with these recipients.

My loyal followers:

Jenni at Jiggety Jigg
Mama of Romance at Sex Diaries of a Mom
Athena at Hot Child in the Suburbs
The Neurotic Mom

My new follower:

DJane from Blogging Momma

So I am off to "virtually" spend my winnings on all the things I have fantasized about buying. I will try not to go too overboard, but goodness knows my imagination can carry me away!

Kisses!

An Award from My Mommy!

I got a very special award from my mommy! (This is where you say "awwwwww!") Yes, my fantastic mother (the original "wise young mommy"), author of All About Cakes, gave me this award today and I am so humbled. Since my mother's name is Rose and her cake company is Designer Cakes by Rose, this award is very fitting:

My mother makes THE BEST cakes in the world and was THE BEST mommy in the world, so this award is truly special. I am supposed to pass it along, so here goes:

I am passing this award along to Jennifer at Happily Ever After Land because I really relate to her and her writing and I think she is just beautiful, like a rose!

A big THANK YOU to my lovely mom--I LOVE YOU!

Another Awesome Award!

(Did you notice the alliteration in the title people? Come on, humor me please.)

So one of my favorite Mommy Bloggers whom I look up to with respect and utter admiration because her posts are so wonderfully written, thoughtful, poignant, and FUNNY has given little ole ME an award! I can't believe it! And it is a really cool award because it is a sister award!

Rachel over at Following in My Shoes bestowed upon me this pretty little note and I am so flattered! Since my real little sister is 16 and thinks I am pretty lame, this makes me feel all warm and fuzzy! And it came upon the heels of my daughter calling me a crackhead so this eases the pain of that incident as well.

So in the grand tradition of blog awards, I am going to pass along the love. The person I am passing this along to is my friend (in real life!) Mel from The Mommydoodles Blog because she is the one that introduced me to blogging, told me how to do it, held my hand through the process and even designed my blog! I am forever grateful and indebted to her, so she gets this blog love as a thank you!

So thanks Rachel and Mel for making the blogosphere a better place!

Oh What a Beautiful Morning!

Well, not really because my throat is ON FIRE (I guess my germ laden, snotty nosed children passed along their colds to their unsuspecting, UNDESERVING mother). But, besides that, I have been given another award--YIPPEE! And it is from one of my very favorite mom bloggers over at Outnumbered Two to One, which makes it even cooler. She makes me laugh so hard I practically need some Depends just to read her blog, and therefore, I love her (because who doesn't love peeing their pants, right? Right? I guess I'm alone on this one...) Anyway, here is the award, which I think is just darling:

But of course, there are rules (Geesh! Doesn't anyone know that I am too ant-establishment for all these rules? But seeing that I am only anti-establishment in my dreams and in real life I always follow the rules, I will be following these rules to the letter.) So this is how my bestower had it, so I am stealing it from her because my throat hurts and I am tired and just feel like being lazy:

The System
  1. Slap this baby up on your blog. Don’t be shy.
  2. Link to the giver.
  3. Nominate up to seven other fab blogs.
  4. Post links to those super fly blogs your nominating.
  5. Leave messages for your recipients on their blogs…so they can feel as special as you. Laughing

The Envelope Please

  1. Problem Girl
  2. Wiping Up Snot
  3. The Neurotic Mom
  4. Undomestic Diva
  5. June Cleaver Nirvana
  6. Mommy Melee
  7. Dirty Little Secret

So there you have it. Some of these blogs I have listed are big names that get so many comments and awards every day that they probably will not even acknowledge my meager attempt at honoring them, but hey--I love their blog, so they deserve it. And a girl can pretend like she is a big, famous blogger that would be noticed by other big, famous bloggers, can't she? I LIKE MY FANTASIES PEOPLE, WORK WITH ME HERE!

Again, thank you Outnumbered Two to One. My hot, fiery, molten lava throat thanks you as well, for taking attention away from it for a brief period of time!

Somebody Else Thinks I'm Cool!

My lovely fellow blogging mommy with a gorgeous diva baby girl, Jennifer from Happily Ever After Land, has decided to give me the Brilliante Weblog Award as well!

Thank you Jennifer--everyone go check out her blog because she is hilarious (and beautiful--hoo-rah!) and she is a fantastic writer!

I just gave out the award yesterday so I am going to skip that part and just say thank you...and blush.

No Freakin' Way!

I am sitting here in complete shock. It just amazes me that people even visit this little hole in the world wide web I call a blog, but to think that so many people want to AWARD me just blows my mind and makes me feel more than a little embarrassed. I can't believe it, but today I was awarded again with the Brillante Weblog Award--TWICE.
Jenny over at Ring Leader and Amy from Living on Sunshine Street have both decided that they also think I am worthy of this award, and for that, I say THANK YOU LOVELIES!!!

Here are my award recipients this time around:

1. Michelle at Mommy Confessions

2. Liz from Mom 101

3. Jenny at The Bloggess

4. Mama Tulip at Where Am I Going...and why am I in this handbasket?

5. Karly at Wiping Up Snot

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
